22nd April Sharing with Colleagues

We had a meeting  with our Iceland team again and some other teachers from school were also invited. Kaire and Hegi had been to HITSA conference ’Fiberoptical Path of Education’ in Tallinn and shared what they had heard and learned there with the others.

Lectors from universities spoke on various topics, e.g.:

1. Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs) - Past, Present, and Future

2.  Introduction into Learning Analytics 

Hendrik Drachsler (Open University of the Netherlands)

3. Proposing Assessment Methods for Different Learning Outcomes: Project TALOE(slaidid)

On the practical side  another quiz app in addition to https://getkahoot.com/ was introduced.  The teachers could try using http://quizizz.com/, which is a bit different from Kahoot as the students can  answer at their own pace and the questions are not on the big screen.A new tool for lesson planning: http://beta.leplanner.net/#/Another tool for making mind maps could be:It’s especially useful for a planning project work or a bit longer tasks, but can also be used for planning just one lesson.
